 STOP DISTRACTED DRIVING
Cognitive Attention vs Distracted Driving!

Two weeks ago while I was being transported to the hospital in an ambulance. The ambulance driver went on to the rumble strip because she was reaching for her laptop!!!!

Yesterday my husband and I were rear ended by a Garbage Truck at 30 mph while stopped at a red light. The police officer said this was "inexcusable". The driver was on his phone!!!!!! A trip to the ER, xrays and mri's, Totaled our car! !!!! When Does This Craziness Stop!!!

STOP DISTRACTED DRIVERS!

DISTRACTED DRIVING?

Distracted driving is any activity that could divert a person's attention away from the primary task of driving. All distractions endanger driver, passenger, and bystander safety. These types of distractions include:

Texting
Using a cell phone or smartphone
Eating and drinking
Talking to passengers
Grooming
Reading, including maps
Using a navigation system
Watching a video
Adjusting a radio, CD player, or MP3 player

I spend half of my time driving watching for distracted drivers because there are so many distractions!!!

Text messaging, onboard computers, laptops/tablets etc., requires visual, manual, and cognitive attention from the driver, it is by far the most alarming distraction.
